The Difference Is Our Technology

  • In keeping with our ongoing commitment to remain at the forefront of vision correction, we offer the newest and most technologically advanced Laser System, the ALLEGRETTO WAVE excimer laser. We are proud to treat our patients with the ALLEGRETTO WAVE Laser System.

This advancement in vision correction technology offers patients increased speed, accuracy and safety. In fact, the ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q is one of the fastest excimer Laser Systems today.

The ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q Excimer Laser is the newest generation of excimer laser technology and is the first system to receive concurrent approval for the treatment of both nearsightedness and farsightedness. The treatment profile for this laser was developed after intense study of individuals who have what is called "super vision," or vision that is better than 20/20. The laser reshapes the cornea of your eye to mimic the pattern of eyes with "super vision" with unparalled customization. Due to the laser's unique wavefront-optimized ablation algorithm, the system delivers superior clinical results and a maximum level of safety for our patients.

The Lasik Experience

Medical Consultation

Your consultation is the first step. During this one-hour appointment you will have specific testing performed to assure that you are eligible for the Laser Treatment. The remainder of your visit , is an interactive and educational session designed to help you understand all aspects of the LASIK procedure.

After a thorough comprehensive examination and consultation you will obtain final recommendations about your possible options. This requires a great deal of clinical examination time during which many questions will be asked, many measurements taken, much data collected and a dialogue will occur between the Surgeon and staff.

Day of Surgery

You should plan to spend approximately 1,5 hour at the practice from start to finish

First, if you have not already done so, you will need to sign a statement of informed consent which says that you have had the opportunity to ask questions, that they have been answered, that the risks, benefits and possible complications of your treatment have been reviewed and discussed with you.

After a few minutes you will be accompanied into the laser suite.

You will be asked to sit and recline on a comfortable bedlike chair or platform.

Your job is to relax and stay still for a few minutes.

Once the procedure is completed you will sit in a comfortable recovery area for a short while before you are dismissed. While you are waiting, your instructions for how to use the various drops, you will be supplied, will be reviewed with you.

The first few hours are the most important for healing. Follow the instructions you were given carefully and completely.

You will return for follow-up the next day. The exact schedule of visits can vary from patient to patient
